Making a Catalog Live/Current

Once you have published your catalog either for the first time or publishing a new academic year catalog following the publishing process, the newly published catalog can be made current and live immediately or this can be delayed to give you time to review the newly published book prior to making it accessible.

Making your catalog or handbook current refers to the process of identifying the catalog or handbook at current versus archived within your Curriculum Strategy system, see Current URL Update

Making a catalog or handbook live means that you make your published catalog publicly available and is a process done in partnership with your campus IT/ webmasters

Tips for sharing your catalog with your campus IT or webmaster:

  • Your All Catalogs page is a  great URL to share with your campus IT or webmaster as it provides access to the full collection of published catalogs and handbooks
  • Your catalog supports deep linking. You may provide links to specific catalogs or handbooks to be used as needed by your institution. Deep links are a type of link that send users directly to a specific webpage instead of just the homepage or login page. Deep links are used to send users straight to specific in-app locations, saving users the time and energy locating a specific page themselves, significantly improving the user experience.

If you are making your catalog current and live for the first time, your consultant will work with you through the following tasks.
If you are making  subsequent catalogs or handbooks current and live, please review the following tasks:

Please Note: Once these steps have been completed, you may still need to provide the catalog link to your IT team/Webmaster to embed/update on the institution's website if you are not using a redirect Current section of your site.
