CM Access Role Mapping

During implementation, a request to map subject codes to programs and programs to departments may have been presented.

When creating the Access roles for the proposal workflows, we will map all of the subject code access roles to be inherited by the access program role related to them. The access program roles will also be set to be inherited by the access Department/College roles if available.

This mapping is set up to simplify assigning access to user profiles. For example, instead of assigning all of the program and course subject roles they may need access to, assigning the department role to the user profile will automatically inherit all related programs and subject codes granting that user all access needed in one role.

The roles will always be available for individual access assignment as well.

When requesting a new subject code/program/department for your Curriculum Management forms, it is helpful to supply the mapping for it so this can be completed by support when the new item is created. For example, if you are requesting the addition of a new subject code, supply the program/department it should be inherited by or relates to so it will automatically be available to user profiles that already have that program/department access assigned.
